Stock up on savory pork, napa cabbage, and cilantro dumplings with this Taiwanese-inspired recipe for your freezer.
Ingredients:
  • 2 heads napa cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 2 pounds ground pork
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, minced
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 (2 inch) piece ginger root, peeled and minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 (16 ounce) packages potsticker wrappers, or more as needed
Instructions:
  • Place the cabbage and cilantro on a clean dish towel, then bundle up the towel and firmly squeeze out excess moisture from the cabbage.
  • Combine cabbage and cilantro in a large bowl. Add pork, jalapeño peppers, egg whites, ginger, and sesame oil. Use your hands to mix everything well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place waxed paper on two baking sheets. Fill a small bowl with water.
  • Lay a potsticker wrapper on your palm. Add a spoonful of pork filling in the middle. Moisten the edges with water using your finger. Seal by folding and pinching the edges together. Place the dumpling on a baking sheet and continue with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  • Chill dumplings in the freezer until solid for about 2 hours. Then, place them in large resealable plastic bags and store in the freezer.
