Homemade beef pinwheels: versatile appetizers or on-the-go meals, handcrafted for convenience and flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup corn flakes cereal, coarsely crushed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 1.125 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.375 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and generously grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Whisk egg in a bowl until smooth. Incorporate ground beef, cayenne pepper, crushed cereal, onion, salt, black pepper, and parsley, mixing until well combined; set aside. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Use a pastry blender to cut in shortening until mixture resembles sand. Stir in milk until dough forms.
  • On a generously floured surface, roll out the dough into a 10x15-inch rectangle. Evenly spread the meat mixture over the dough. Roll the dough into a 15-inch log starting from one of the wide ends. Slice the log into 3/4-inch pieces and arrange them on the baking sheets.
  • Bake until gorgeously golden brown, 30 to 45 minutes in a preheated oven. Serve piping hot.
