6 ingredients for incredible homemade teriyaki beef.
Ingredients:
  • 100g sachet teriyaki beef ready sauce
  • 600g beef rump steak, trimmed
  • 2/3 x 270g packet dried soba noodles
  • 27.30 gm peanut oil
  • 200g snow peas, trimmed, sliced diagonally
  • 12.00 gm sesame seeds, lightly toasted
Instructions:
  • Pour half of the teriyaki sauce into a shallow glass or ceramic dish. Add the steak and coat it by turning it in the sauce. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, if possible.
  • Boil noodles in a saucepan of water as per packet instructions until tender. Drain the noodles.
  • Warm 1 tablespoon of oil in a spacious, deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Place the steak on a plate, lightly cover with foil, and let it sit for 5 minutes to rest.
  • Next, heat the rest of the oil in the pan and add the snow peas. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until they turn bright green and become tender. Then, add the noodles to the pan along with the remaining teriyaki sauce, 1 tablespoon of cold water, and half of the onion. Stir fry everything together for another 1 to 2 minutes until the noodles are heated through. Take the pan off the heat. Slice the steak thinly and serve it on top of the noodles. Finish by garnishing with the rest of the onion and sesame seeds.
