Quick and easy grilled shrimp skewers with homemade teriyaki sauce - a savory-sweet dish perfect for appetizers or main course.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp
  • 0.5 fresh pineapple, cored and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces

  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, let a flavorful mix of water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger come to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer until the sauce has reduced and slightly thickened for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the outdoor grill by preheating it to medium-high heat and lightly oiling the grate. Skewer the shrimp and pineapple alternately onto the skewers, then transfer them to a platter.
  • Prepare the skewers on the hot grill and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until the shrimp is opaque and fully cooked. Lower the heat on the grill, brush sauce on both sides of the skewers, and then transfer them to a serving platter. Sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds before serving.
