Spicy Texas baked beans with bacon, beer, and bold BBQ flavor - a must-have for your next BBQ!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium red onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
  • 1 pound bacon, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 medium jalapeno peppers, minced, or to taste
  • 1 cup beer, or more to taste
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 6 cups cooked pinto beans
  • 1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
  • cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onion and garlic in hot oil until onion begins to soften, about 5-7 minutes. Add bacon, bell pepper, and jalapeños; cook and stir until bacon is browned, around 7-10 minutes.
  • Combine beer, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and molasses in a large bowl. Mix in pinto beans, bacon-onion mixture, garlic salt, and pepper. Transfer the flavorful bean mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake until golden brown and bubbly for about 45 minutes in the preheated oven.
