Texas-style smoky chicken

Delicious smoky chicken nibbles, perfect for kids. Pair with Southern coleslaw for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 53.60 gm golden syrup
  • 45.20 gm smokey barbecue sauce
  • 41.60 gm tomato sauce
  • 40.00 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 11.80 gm dijon mustard
  • 7.50 gm smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1kg chicken nibbles
  • 4 corn cobs, husks and silk removed
  • 20g butter, cut into 4 pieces
  • 450g packet Southern-style coleslaw kit
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced diagonally
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 200C (180C fan-forced).
  • In a glass or ceramic dish, mix golden syrup, barbecue sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper together. Season with salt. Add chicken and coat well. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover, baste chicken with pan juices, and bake for an additional 25 minutes until chicken is golden brown and fully cooked.
  • Boil corn cobs in seasoned salted water until tender, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain and top with butter. Sprinkle with pepper to taste.
  • Follow the directions on the coleslaw packet to prepare it. Season the chicken with onion. Serve the chicken with the coleslaw and corn.
