Total Time:
Decadent chocolate squares with gooey marshmallows and crunchy nuts.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 0.33333298563957 cup butter
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 0.33333298563957 cup milk
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and generously grease and lightly flour a 13x9 inch pan.
  • In a large saucepan, gently melt 1/2 cup of butter and 1 ounce of chocolate. Take off the heat and blend in 1 cup of white sugar, 1 cup of flour, walnuts, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 2 eggs until combined. Spread the chocolate base evenly into the prepared pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix 6 ounces of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Use an electric mixer on medium speed for one minute until smooth and fluffy. Spread the cream cheese filling over the chocolate mixture.
  • Bake the base and filling in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25-35 minutes until golden and set.
  • While waiting, make the frosting by melting 1/3 cup butter, 2 ounces of chocolate, milk, and 2 ounces of cream cheese in a large saucepan over low heat. Once melted, take it off the heat and stir in confectioners' sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth. Reheat if it becomes too stiff before you are ready to use it.
  • Cover the chocolate bar with marshmallows in the pan. Drizzle warm frosting over them and gently swirl with a kitchen knife. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Cut into small pieces when cold.
