Decadent chocolate brownies with mini Toblerone and almond praline topping.
Ingredients:
  • 250g butter, chopped
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 161.25 gm caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 312.50 ml plain flour
  • 20.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 3 x 50g mini Toblerones, broken into pieces
  • 50g butter, chopped
  • 40.40 gm thickened cream
  • 117.98 gm honey
  • 75.00 gm icing sugar mixture, sifted
  • 125.00 ml slivered almonds, toasted
  • 2 x 50g mini Toblerones
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 190C/170C fan-forced. Grease an 18cm x 28cm slice pan and line the base and sides with baking paper, leaving a 2cm overhang above the edges of the pan.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, dark chocolate, and sugar. Cook until smooth, stirring occasionally. Let it cool for 10 minutes before using.
  • Whisk in one egg at a time until combined, then stir in our. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and lightly press Toblerone pieces on top. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the top is just rm to the touch. Cool for 1 hour.
  • Create Praline Topping: Combine butter, cream, and honey in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until smooth and simmer. Reduce heat and cook until slightly thickened. Remove from heat, whisk in icing sugar, then mix in almonds. Pour over brownie and let it sit for 20 minutes. Break and roughly chop Toblerone, then sprinkle over brownie. Chill for 2 hours until set.
  • Present the brownie in neatly cut squares for serving.
