Whip up a refreshing mint julep for your next party with this simple recipe using homemade mint syrup. Perfect for Derby Day or any summer occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 bunch fresh mint, torn into pieces
  • 1 1/2 oz Kentucky Whisky
  • 1 oz mint syrup
  • Fresh mint for garnish
  • 8 oz glass or silver cup filled with crushed ice
Instructions:
  • Create a mint-infused simple syrup by combining water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves, for 1 to 2 minutes. Lightly muddle the mint to unlock its flavors, then mix it into the syrup. Let it cool for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Fill an 8-oz glass with crushed ice, pour in the whisky, stir well, and top with mint syrup and fresh mint sprigs.
  • Savor this dish mindfully and with appreciation.
