Gift a box of decadent chocolate-dipped cookies for a delightful surprise.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 4 ounces bittersweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 4 ounces sweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 4 ounces white chocolate baking bar, chopped
  • 3 teaspoons shortening
  • 3 ounces bittersweet baking chocolate
  • 3 ounces sweet baking chocolate
  • 3 ounces white chocolate baking bar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer or a spoon to combine brown sugar, butter, and egg until smooth. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until a soft dough forms. Stir in nuts, 4 ounces each of bittersweet, sweet, and white chocolate. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake cookies until they turn light golden brown, for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool for 1 to 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Allow the cookies to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, melt 1 teaspoon shortening with 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate over gentle heat, stirring until smooth; remove from heat. Repeat with sweet chocolate and white chocolate using the same method.
  • Dip the edges of each cookie in both glazes, allowing each one to set before moving on to the next. Rotate the cookie for each type of glaze. Place the cookies on waxed paper to set.
