Lean turkey mince is a nutritious swap in this flavorful bolognese sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 quantity Basic tomato sauce (see related recipe)
  • 1 small carrot, peeled, finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 400g turkey mince
  • 375g penne rigate
  • 187.50 ml reduced-fat pizza cheese
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, cook carrot, celery, mince, and onion together, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon to break up the mince, for 5 to 7 minutes until browned. Continue with the remaining steps.
  • Cook the pasta in a large pot of perfectly salted boiling water according to the package instructions until it's tender. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot before adding the sauce and mixing everything together delightfully.
  • Preheat the grill on high. Divide the pasta mixture evenly into six 1 1/2 cup-capacity ovenproof dishes. Top with cheese and grill for 5 to 7 minutes until melted. Serve with crusty bread.
