Transform a classic cheese ball into a festive turkey shape with crunchy pecans, perfect for Thanksgiving appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 3.5 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (1 ounce) package Ranch-style dressing mix
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup whole pecans
  • 7 whole-wheat crackers
  • 0.25 red bell pepper
  • 1 black olive
  • 0.5 teaspoon cream cheese, softened
  • 1 slice yellow zucchini
Instructions:
  • Combine cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, and dressing mix in a large bowl. Shape mixture into a large ball, then coat with chopped pecans. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  • Assemble the turkey: Place whole-wheat crackers in a row at the back of the cheese ball for tail feathers. Insert pecans evenly into the cheese ball for the body.
  • Cut 2 strips of red bell pepper for the turkey's head and neck. Use a small pastry tip to cut 2 "eyes" from the black olive. Place cream cheese dollops on one red pepper strip for the turkey head, adding the olive circles as pupils. Fashion a small triangular beak from the yellow zucchini and affix it to the red pepper using cream cheese. Position the plain red pepper strip on the cheese ball's front, then attach the red bell pepper with the face on top of the cheese ball for the head.
