Flavorful ground turkey burgers with Dijon mustard, red onion, avocado, arugula, and Parmesan.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 0.25 cup minced red onion
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 1 cup baby arugula
  • 1 avocado - peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 4 slices green bell pepper
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Combine ground turkey, finely chopped red onion, tangy Dijon mustard, and a pinch of coarse salt in a bowl. Shape the mixture into 4 patties and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the grill by preheating it to medium-high heat and lightly oiling the grate.
  • Drizzle the burgers with olive oil for a flavorful touch.
  • Grill burgers until they are fully cooked, about 4 to 5 minutes on each side. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure they reach at least 165°F (74°C) at the center.
  • Assemble on whole wheat burger buns with baby arugula, avocado, green bell pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
