Indulge in a comforting French-style turkey and bean dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 pound fully cooked smoked turkey sausage ring, cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 1 medium carrot, shredded (2/3 cup)
  • 1 small onion chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 2 cans (15 or 16 ounces each) great northern beans, drained and 3/4 cup liquid reserved
  • 1 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients, along with the reserved bean liquid, in a 2 to 3 1/2-quart slow cooker.
  • Cook the vegetables on low heat for 6 to 8 hours, or until they are tender.
