Turkey meatballs infused with Italian sausage, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Parmesan-Romano cheese blend for a flavorful main course.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Romano cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.25 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 0.5 cup minced onion
  • 0.25 cup Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 1 pound ground Italian-flavored turkey sausage
  • 4 cups spaghetti sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a sheet pan with cooking spray.
  • Mix bread crumbs, Parmesan and Romano cheeses, parsley, basil, oregano, and Cajun seasoning in a bowl until herbs are evenly mixed. In another bowl, combine minced onion, Cabernet Sauvignon, eggs, and garlic; mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Combine ground turkey and ground sausage in a large bowl. Mix in the cheese mixture and onion mixture until evenly combined. Shape into 1-inch meatballs and arrange on the prepared sheet pan.
  • Roast in the oven until the center is no longer pink and the juices are clear, approximately 20 minutes. Check with a meat thermometer for a minimum reading of 160 degrees F (71 degrees C).
  • In a large saucepan, combine spaghetti sauce and meatballs, stirring until coated. Simmer over medium heat until warmed through, 5 to 10 minutes.
