Quick and flavorful Turkish lamb burgers ready in under 15 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 500g lean lamb mince
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2.50 gm ground cumin
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • 1 loaf Turkish bread
  • 130g baba ghanoush
  • 50g baby spinach
  • 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 Lebanese cucumber, thinly sliced (see note)
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix together mince, onion, garlic, cumin, and egg. Shape into four 2cm-thick patties using your hands. Spray a barbecue plate or chargrill with oil and heat over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side until done to your preference.
  • Cut the bread into four pieces crossways, then halve each piece horizontally. Lightly spray the cut sides of the bread with oil and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Spread 4 bread slices generously with half of the dip. Layer with spinach, tomato, patties, cucumber, and the rest of the dip. Top with the remaining bread slices to make flavorful sandwiches. Enjoy!
