Create cute Christmas sweater cookies with Betty Crocker™ sugar cookie mix. Endless design possibilities for a fun and delicious activity with kids or friends.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • Betty Crocker™ Red Gel Food Color
  • Betty Crocker™ Decorating Cookie Icings (assorted colors)
  • Betty Crocker™ Black Writing Gel
  • Betty Crocker™ Writing Icing Classic Colors (assorted colors)
  • Betty Crocker™ Decorating Sprinkles and Sugars (assorted colors)
  • Assorted candies for decorating, such as Betty Crocker™ Dessert Decorations Candy Eyeballs, small gumdrops, M&M’s Minis® Milk Chocolate Candies, Reese’s Minis Unwrapped Peanut Butter Cups
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Combine cookie mix, flour, butter, and egg in a medium bowl until a soft dough forms. Transfer one-third of the dough to a small bowl and mix in food coloring until tinted red.
  • Drop slightly less than tablespoonfuls of doughs in a random pattern on a floured surface to create a large rectangle, ensuring that the dough pieces are touching.
  • Shape dough into a 6x5-inch rectangle and roll it out to 1/4-inch thickness to create a marbled pattern. Use a floured 3 1/2- to 4-inch sweater-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Transfer the cutouts onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Combine any leftover scraps, reroll on a floured surface, and cut out more cookies.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly golden brown. Let cool for 2 minutes, then transfer from cookie sheets to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely, which should take about 30 minutes.
  • Feel free to get creative with decorations, taking inspiration from the photo. Allow the dessert to rest for at least 1 hour or until firm. Keep it stored in a sealed container at room temperature, with waxed paper separating each layer.
