Sweeten up your Fruit Cocktail Cake with just 1 cup of sugar for the perfect balance of flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (16 ounce) can fruit cocktail
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
Instructions:
  • Combine the flour, 1 cup of sugar, salt, and baking soda by sifting them together. Beat the 2 eggs and pour them over the dry mixture. Mix in the fruit cocktail until well combined.
  • Prepare the pan by greasing and flouring it before baking at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 45 minutes.
  • Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup butter or margarine, and coconut over gentle heat until smooth. Drizzle over cake while warm.
