Upside-down caramel pecan apple pie: Baked with love and a touch of magic.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 4 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface and set them aside. In a large bowl, toss the apples with lemon juice and set them aside.
  • Mix together brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup, then spread in a 9-inch pie dish. Top with chopped pecans and cover with a pie crust. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  • Layer half of the apples in the pastry-lined plate and sprinkle with half of the brown sugar mixture. Repeat the layers. Cover with the remaining pie crust, tuck the top edges under, and seal by crimping. Cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake in a hot oven for 50 to 60 minutes until golden brown. Allow to rest for 5 minutes. Gently release the edges of the pie and carefully flip it onto a serving dish. Enjoy while warm.
