Rich and creamy chocolate ice cream made with cocoa powder, melted chocolate, and a decadent custard base for an indulgent treat.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 3 egg yolk, lightly beaten
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups heavy cream
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir constantly and bring to a simmer.
  • In a small bowl, gently combine egg yolks with approximately 1/2 cup of the warm milk mixture. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan. Cook over gentle heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, being careful not to let it boil.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and fold in the chopped chocolate until smooth and fully melted.
  • Transfer the mixture to a chilled bowl and refrigerate, stirring occasionally, until it's cold, approximately 2 hours.
  • Mix in luscious cream and aromatic vanilla. Transfer the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze as per the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
