Cheesy Welsh Rarebit toast topped with sharp Cheddar, Worcestershire sauce, and a touch of cayenne.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • In a 2 quart saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in flour, salt, mustard, and pepper until blended. Add milk and Worcestershire sauce. Stir constantly for 10 minutes until thickened.
  • Continuously stir as you melt the cheese into the mixture until well blended. Serve over warm toast right away.
