Fluffy and stable whipped frosting perfect for rolled cakes, whoopie pies, and angel food cakes.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup margarine
Instructions:
  • Gradually mix milk into flour in a small saucepan to prevent lumps. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Cover with waxed paper and cool completely. For quicker cooling, place the saucepan in a bowl of ice water and stir until cooled.
  • In a mixer bowl, blend together shortening and margarine for 4 minutes until creamy. Add sugar and beat for another 4 minutes. Mix in cooled paste and vanilla until well combined.
