Easy festive whipped shortbread cookies with butter, flour, powdered sugar, and red/green maraschino cherries.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 5 red maraschino cherries, quartered, or as needed
  • 5 green maraschino cherries, quartered, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Using an electric mixer, whip flour, butter, and confectioners' sugar until fluffy, for about 10 minutes. Spoon the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, keeping a 2-inch distance between each. Top each cookie with a quarter of either a red or green maraschino cherry.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the bottom is lightly browned, about 15 to 17 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
