Try this delectable banana bread recipe using Gold Medal® whole wheat flour for a wholesome treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (about 4 medium)
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease only the bottoms of 2 (9x5- or 8x4-inch) loaf pans with shortening or cooking spray.
  • Whisk all ingredients in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then switch to medium speed for 45 seconds, making sure to scrape the bowl often. Transfer the batter to the pans.
  • Bake for 55 to 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted between the center and edge comes out clean. Let them cool for 10 minutes, then loosen the sides and transfer to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for about 2 hours before slicing.
