Bacon-infused collard greens - a crowd-pleasing, hearty side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound bacon, diced
  • 2 bunches collard greens, trimmed and chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
Instructions:
  • In a large deep pot, cook bacon over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Add collard greens, onion, garlic, and sugar to the cooked bacon. Cover and steam until collard greens are wilted, 3 to 4 minutes. Uncover, raise heat to high, and cook until liquid is evaporated, about 5 minutes.
