Yams baked with creamy, sweet and spiced mixture, topped with buttery, crunchy cornflake topping.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (29 ounce) can yams, drained and mashed
  • 0.25 cup melted butter
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup sugar frosted corn flake cereal
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Mix yams, melted butter, white sugar, evaporated milk, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until well combined. Transfer mixture to a 9x9 inch casserole dish.
  • Cream together the butter and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Mix in the walnuts and frosted cereal, then spread this mixture on top of the yam mixture.
  • Place in a hot oven and bake for 35 minutes.
