Zucchini lasagne layers with rich tomato sauce, creamy bechamel, melty mozzarella, and generous Parmigiano Reggiano.
Ingredients:
  • 4 zucchini
  • 1.5 cups homemade or store-bought tomato sauce
  • 0.66666668653488 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1.5 cups bechamel sauce
  • 1 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 0.25 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the zucchini into 1/4-inch thick strips using a knife or mandolin.
  • Spread a generous layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer the zucchini slices on top, slightly overlapping for a beautiful presentation.
  • Layer the dish with mozzarella, 1/3 of the bechamel, 1/3 of the tomato sauce, 1/3 of the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and 1/3 of the basil. Repeat these layers and finish by topping with bechamel and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes until the sauce is bubbling and the top is golden brown. Let it rest for 10 minutes until the remaining liquid is absorbed.
