Air Fryer Bang Bang Tofu

Crispy air-fried bang bang tofu: mayo-chili seasoned, breaded.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (14 ounce) package extra-firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.5 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
  • 1.5 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 green onion, chopped
Instructions:
  • Place tofu on a paper towel-lined plate. Top with more paper towels and another plate. Place a 3- to 5-pound weight on top and press for 30 minutes. Discard liquid, then cut tofu into 1/2-inch cubes.
  • In a large bowl, coat cubed tofu with fragrant sesame oil. Mix gently and allow to marinate for 20 minutes.
  • While waiting, create the irresistible bang bang sauce by combining mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha sauce in a medium bowl until you achieve a smooth mixture. Next, transfer bread crumbs to a separate bowl.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for optimal results.
  • Combine tofu with 1/2 cup of delectable bang bang sauce until well coated. Coat tofu in bread crumbs and arrange in the air fryer basket without overlapping. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Air fry for 5 minutes until perfectly crispy. Give it a good shake and air fry for an additional 3 minutes. Top with fresh green onions and serve with the extra bang bang sauce.
