Crispy cornflake coated air fryer chicken drumsticks cook up juicy and tender in under 30 minutes for a quick and easy meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 0.5 cup cornflake crumbs
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika
  • 6 large chicken drumsticks
  • salt to taste
  • nonstick cooking spray
Instructions:
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and water. In another shallow bowl, mix cornflake crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, Cajun seasoning, chili powder, and paprika.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for maximum crispiness.
  • Season drumsticks with a hint of salt on both sides. Dip each drumstick into the egg mixture, then coat with the cornflake mixture, making sure to cover all surfaces by rolling and pressing down gently.
  • Coat the chicken with cooking spray and place it sprayed side down in the air fryer basket. Spray the top of the drumsticks. Adjust drumstick position as needed based on their size.
  • After air-frying for 10 minutes, carefully flip the chicken. Lower the temperature to 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) and continue cooking for another 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Check for doneness after 5 minutes based on the size of the drumsticks.
