Air fryer sticky chicken bites recipe

Sweet and gooey chicken breast bites - perfect for snacking or as a complete meal with salad and potatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 70g (½ cup) plain flour
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 5.00 gm sweet paprika
  • 62.50 ml corn flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 500g chicken breast, cut into 2cm pieces
  • Green shallots, sliced, to serve
  • Toasted sesame seeds, to serve
  • 93.23 gm barbecue sauce
  • 44.00 gm sweet chilli sauce
  • 57.20 gm honey
  • 40g butter, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika together.
  • Prepare a breading station by setting up three shallow bowls: one with corn flour, one with lightly whisked eggs, and one with seasoned flour. Dip chicken pieces in corn flour, then eggs, and finally seasoned flour, ensuring to shake off any excess before frying.
  • Place half of the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket and give them a light spritz of oil. Air fry at 180C for 10 minutes until golden brown. Keep the cooked batch warm while you air fry the remaining pieces. Once done, transfer all the chicken to a bowl.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix all ingredients and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drizzle over the chicken and gently toss to ensure it's well coated.
  • Place the chicken in a beautiful serving bowl and generously sprinkle it with shallot and sesame seeds. Serve promptly to enjoy!
