Crispy air fryer tonkatsu with homemade sauce is tender and juicy.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sherry
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound boneless pork breakfast chops (4 chops)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups panko bread crumbs
  • nonstick cooking spray
Instructions:
  • Prepare the sauce by whisking ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic in a medium bowl until the sugar is fully dissolved. Set the sauce aside for later use.
  • Preheat the air fryer to a perfect 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Season pork chops with a perfect balance of salt and pepper on a fresh work surface.
  • Crack eggs into a shallow dish and beat them. Place bread crumbs in a separate shallow dish.
  • Coat each pork chop in beaten eggs, followed by bread crumbs, then egg, and breadcrumbs again to ensure a thorough coating. Repeat with the rest of the pork chops.
  • Place the pork chops in the preheated air fryer basket, spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray, and air-fry for 10 minutes. Flip the chops over, spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray again, and air-fry for an additional 10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Move the pork chops to a cutting board and slice them before serving with the sauce.
