Air fried breaded chicken thighs: Crispy, juicy, and oil-free.
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • nonstick cooking spray
Instructions:
  • Marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk in a sealed container in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • Take the chicken out of the refrigerator. Discard excess buttermilk and allow the chicken to come to room temperature as you make the breading mixture.
  • In a large shallow bowl or pie plate, whisk together flour, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, paprika, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly combined.
  • Preheat the air fryer to a perfect crisp-inducing temperature range of 375 to 380 degrees F (190 to 195 degrees C), then give the basket a light spritz of nonstick spray.
  • When the air fryer is ready, coat each chicken thigh in the breading mixture, ensuring breading adheres to all sides. Place the thighs in the air fryer basket individually, without stacking.
  • Cook the food in the air fryer at 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) for 25 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature before serving. If the food needs more time but the breading is getting too dark, close the basket and let it rest or air fry for a few more minutes. Serve immediately.
