Deliciously crispy air-fried haloumi bites - perfect party snack! Ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 5.00 gm smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 2.50 gm cornflour
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 225g haloumi, cut into 1cm pieces
  • 2 eggs
  • 60g (1 1/4 cups) panko breadcrumbs
  • 20.00 ml finely chopped fresh thyme leaves, plus extra, to serve (optional)
  • 27.00 gm maple syrup
  • 20.00 ml sriracha chilli sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your air fryer to 180C and prepare a large baking tray by lining it with baking paper.
  • Mix together the paprika, sugar, mustard powder, cornflour, onion powder, and garlic powder in a shallow dish. Coat the haloumi in the mixture, a few pieces at a time, and then move them to the tray.
  • In a separate shallow dish, beat the eggs. Dip a few pieces of the haloumi at a time into the egg mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Place the coated pieces back onto the tray.
  • In a separate shallow dish, mix together the breadcrumbs and thyme. Coat the haloumi pieces one by one, then place them back on the tray. Chill in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  • Prepare the maple hot sauce by combining all ingredients in a small serving bowl and whisking until well mixed.
  • Air fry the crumbed haloumi until golden and soft, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with extra thyme, and drizzle with maple hot sauce. Serve with extra sauce on the side.
