Homemade white bread recipe for two perfect loaves, ideal for sandwiches or toast. Simple, sweet, and easy to make.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 cups bread flour
Instructions:
  • Collect all the necessary ingredients.
  • In a large bowl, mix sugar into warm water until completely dissolved. Add yeast and let it proof until creamy foam forms, about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Combine the oil and salt with the yeast mixture, gradually adding one cup of flour at a time.
  • Knead dough on a gently dusted surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a well-oiled bowl, ensuring it's coated all around. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Deflate the dough gently.
  • Gently knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth, then divide it in half. Shape each half into a loaf and place them in well-oiled 9x5-inch loaf pans.
  • Let dough rise until it peaks over the pans by an inch, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you prepare the other ingredients.
  • Bake the fluffy loaves in the hot oven until they turn a beautiful golden brown for half an hour.
  • Savor every delicious bite!
