Sweet and savory apple bourbon sauce glazed chicken wings - irresistibly delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • 5 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup apple jelly
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a 15x10x1-inch pan with foil. Cut each chicken wing at the joints to make 3 pieces, discarding the tip.
  • In a spacious bowl, coat the chicken with 2 teaspoons of oil, salt, and black pepper. Transfer the seasoned chicken to a baking pan and bake for 50 minutes uncovered.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, combine apple jelly, bourbon, brown sugar, garlic, red pepper, and remaining 3 teaspoons of oil. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then simmer for 5 to 8 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  • Take the chicken out of the oven and generously coat it with half of the flavorful sauce, ensuring it is fully covered.
  • Continue baking for an additional 8 to 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Serve the chicken wings with the extra sauce on the side.
