Moist apple brownies with cinnamon, walnuts; perfect fall treat for after school.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 medium apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Using an electric mixer, whisk sugar, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl until light and airy. Gently mix in the apples and walnuts. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon; then fold into the apple mixture until just combined. Spread the batter evenly in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, approximately 35 minutes.
