Cinnamon-infused apple raisin compote - perfect for desserts or pairing with pork.
Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 5 apples - peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup golden raisins
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add chopped apples and toss to coat. Cook, stirring frequently, until apples turn golden, for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Gently combine maple syrup, water, brown sugar, raisins, and cinnamon with the apples. Simmer on low heat until a thick syrup forms, approximately 15 minutes.
  • Let the mixture sit off the heat to thicken slightly. Enjoy warm or chill in the fridge for a cold option.
