Total Time:
Buttered and warmed sliceable pound cake.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9x5x3-inch pan by greasing it with butter. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Start by creaming the butter, then gradually incorporate the sugar while continuing to beat until the mixture turns light and lemon-colored. Finally, beat in the eggs.
  • Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix into the butter mixture along with the buttermilk, alternating between wet and dry ingredients. Fold in apples, nuts, and vanilla, then transfer batter to the prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes until the loaf slightly pulls away from the pan or a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then gently remove and cool on a rack before slicing.
