Upgrade your egg bake with flavorful apple pie filling, fresh apples, and savory breakfast sausage links for a delicious make-ahead breakfast option.
Ingredients:
  • 2 packages (12 oz each) Johnsonville® Original breakfast sausage links
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling with more fruit
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, chopped (about 2 cups)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
  • 1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon until no longer pink. Drain the excess fat, then mix in the pie filling and apples. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle 1 cup of cheese on top.
  • Combine Bisquick mix, milk, salt, pepper, and eggs in a large bowl using a wire whisk or fork until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the cheese.
  • Bake for 30-37 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese on top and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Allow it to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
