Create a crowd-pleasing appetizer by baking sausage, cheese, baking mix, and apple.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage with sage
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (10 oz)
  • 2 cups original all-purpose baking mix
  • 1 Braeburn apple, peeled, shredded (2 cups)
  • Paprika, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Combine the sausage, cheese, baking mix, and apple in a large bowl and mix with your hands until thoroughly combined. Shape the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-14 minutes. Sprinkle with a touch of paprika before serving warm.
