Apple-Walnut Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread

Indulgent monkey bread loaded with apples, walnuts, and cinnamon roll dough.
Ingredients:
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
  • 1.25 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 medium apple - peeled, cored, and minced
  • 2 (17.5 ounce) cans refrigerated cinnamon roll dough with icing
  • 0.5 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and coat a fluted tube pan with 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
  • In a bowl, toss together sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add 1/4 cup of the spiced sugar mixture to minced apples and stir until well coated.
  • Divide the cinnamon roll dough rounds into quarters and reserve the icing for later.
  • Layer half of the apple mixture and half of the walnuts in the pan. Roll half of the cinnamon roll quarters in the spiced sugar and place on top. Drizzle with half of the butter. Repeat with remaining ingredients for another layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 45 minutes. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully flip it onto a plate. Cool for an additional 5 minutes before drizzling with icing.
