Asian-style spam burger recipe

Make SPAM burgers with Aussie BBQ flair and spicy Asian fusion for a tasty twist at your next barbecue.
Ingredients:
  • 340g can SPAM Classic
  • 20.00 ml kecap manis
  • 20.00 ml rice wine vinegar
  • 4 Crusty Jumbo Rolls, split
  • 100g mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp wasabi paste
  • 1/2 x 350g pkt Asian Style Salad Kit, salad mix only
  • 1 long red chilli, seeded, finely chopped
  • 4 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 40.00 ml coriander leaves
  • 6.00 gm sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions:
  • Slice the SPAM into 8 strips, then place them in a shallow bowl. Drizzle with kecap manis and vinegar, making sure to coat each slice evenly. Let it sit for 10 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  • Preheat a barbecue grill or chargrill to high heat. Grill rolls cut-side down until charred, for 1-2 mins. Grill SPAM for 2 mins on each side until charred and hot throughout.
  • In a bowl, mix mayonnaise and wasabi. Spread the roll bases on serving plates with the mayonnaise mixture. Add SPAM, salad mix, chili, spring onion, and coriander. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and cover with the roll tops.
