Fluffy quiche with crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and gooey Cheddar cheese - perfect for any meal!
Ingredients:
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.25 cups sour cream
  • 0.25 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels, cool for 10 minutes, then crumble and set aside.
  • Roll out the pastry crust into a circle using a lightly floured rolling pin, then line a 9-inch pie pan with the crust and prick holes into the base using a fork.
  • Place the crust in the preheated oven on the middle rack and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Take the pastry crust out of the oven, brush it with beaten egg, and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Lower the heat to low and caramelize the onion until deeply golden and very tender, about 40 minutes.
  • In a bowl, vigorously whisk 2 eggs with a fork until well blended. Incorporate sour cream and cream cheese, then use an electric mixer to blend until fully combined. Stir in salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spread the sweet caramelized onions and butter over the pastry crust. Sprinkle with half of the Cheddar cheese, then layer on the crispy crumbled bacon. Pour the creamy egg mixture over the bacon and top it all off with the rest of the Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake the quiche in the preheated oven until it turns golden and fluffy, typically around 30 minutes. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
