Make a mouthwatering bacon cheeseburger casserole that tastes just like take-out. Guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser with second helpings requested.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 loaf (8 oz) prepared cheese product, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cooked real bacon pieces (from a jar or package)
  • 3 cups lightly crushed tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • Diced pickles, if desired
  • Ketchup, if desired
  • Mustard, if desired
  • Lettuce, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a spacious skillet, sauté beef, onion, and garlic salt over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is cooked through. Remove any extra fat.
  • Combine the cubed cheese and bacon in the pan, stirring until the cheese is perfectly melted. Then, take the pan off the heat.
  • Layer half of the chips at the bottom of the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture. Repeat the layers and finish by topping with shredded cheese.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbling. Serve hot with pickles, ketchup, mustard, and/or lettuce.
