Create a bacon cheeseburger shepherd’s pie for a delicious family-friendly meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 2 cans (10.75 oz each) condensed Cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 box (4.7 oz) Betty Crocker™ homestyle creamy butter mashed potatoes
  • Water, milk and butter called for on mashed potato box for 6 servings
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (1 oz)
  • Crumbled cooked bacon, if desired
  • Sliced green onions, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté beef, onion, and garlic for 5 to 7 minutes until beef is fully cooked; then drain any excess fat.
  • Combine the soup, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Prepare the potatoes for 6 servings following the box instructions with water, milk, and butter. Spread the beef mixture in a serving dish, top with mashed potatoes, then sprinkle with cheese. Cover and let sit for about 5 minutes until the cheese melts. Finish with a sprinkle of bacon and green onions before serving.
