Elegant Brie en Croute: Puff pastry filled with jam, almonds, cranberries, and Brie cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry (such as Pepperidge Farm®), thawed
  • 0.5 cup apricot preserves
  • 0.75 cup dried cranberries
  • 0.5 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 (7 inch) wheel Brie cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine egg and water, whisk until smooth to create a flavorful egg wash.
  • Gently roll out puff pastry to a 14-inch square, then trim the corners to form a circle. Spread apricot preserves, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle cranberries and almonds on top, then place Brie cheese in the center.
  • Brush the pastry edges with a hint of the egg wash. Fold the top and bottom over, trim off 2 inches from each edge, then fold the remaining pastry over the Brie to fully cover it. Seal the seams by gently pressing with your fingers and remove any excess leaking apricot preserves.
  • Place the cheese, seam-side down, onto a baking sheet and delicately brush the top with an egg wash.
  • Bake until the top is a beautiful golden brown for around 20 minutes. Allow it to rest for about 30 minutes before serving.
