Easy baked ham with clove studs and brown sugar glaze - a perfect dish for special occasions.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 pound) bone-in ham, rump portion
  • 0.5 cup whole cloves
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 cups water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then elegantly stud the ham with cloves spaced 1- to 2-inch apart in a large roasting pan.
  • Generously sprinkle the surface with brown sugar.
  • Fill the roasting pan with water until it reaches a 1-inch depth, then tightly cover it with aluminum foil.
  • Roast in a fully heated oven for 4 1/2 to 5 hours until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center, avoiding the bone, registers at least 160°F (72°C).
  • Allow the ham to rest for approximately 20 minutes before slicing.
