Revamp stale cinnamon rolls into a delectable banana French toast casserole.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large stale cinnamon rolls
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 bananas, divided
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Cut cinnamon rolls into bite-sized 1-inch squares. Combine milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a bowl, and whisk until smooth.
  • Prepare a decadent banana layer by slicing one ripe banana and arranging it at the base of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Add a sprinkle of brown sugar for a sweet touch. Next, lay out the cinnamon roll squares over the banana layer. Gently pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon rolls and use a spatula to ensure they are fully coated. Seal with aluminum foil and chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld perfectly.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Bake until firm for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown. Allow to rest for 10 minutes after removing from the oven. Slice the extra banana and arrange on top before serving.
