Elevate your banana splits with a refreshing salsa of kiwi, orange, strawberries, and ginger for a gourmet twist on a classic treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium kiwifruit, peeled, chopped (2/3 cup)
  • 1 medium orange, peeled, sectioned and chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped gingerroot or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 medium bananas
  • 1 1/2 quarts (6 cups) vanilla low-fat frozen yogurt
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream topping in aerosol can
  • Betty Crocker™ chocolate candy sprinkles
  • 6 maraschino cherries with stems
Instructions:
  • Combine the kiwifruit, orange, strawberries, lime juice, sugar, and gingerroot in a 1-quart saucepan. Warm over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until just heated through.
  • Slice each banana into quarters by first cutting it in half crosswise, and then cutting each half in half lengthwise.
  • Scoop frozen yogurt into 6 serving dishes. Place 2 banana pieces on each side of the frozen yogurt in each dish. Top with fruit salsa, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and cherries.
