Whip up a delicious tangy BBQ sauce for your ribs using basic pantry staples.
Ingredients:
  • 4 1/2 lb pork spareribs
  • 1/3 cups butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Dash of ground red pepper (cayenne)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Cut ribs into 6 pieces and arrange them meat-side down in a 13x9 inch shallow roasting pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour without covering.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, gently heat the sauce ingredients over medium heat, stirring regularly until the butter has melted. You can also microwave the sauce ingredients in a 1-cup microwavable measuring cup on High for about 30 seconds until the butter is melted.
  • Use a pastry brush to generously coat the ribs with sauce, ensuring both sides are covered. Flip the ribs using tongs and brush the meaty side with more sauce.
  • Continue baking the ribs uncovered for an additional 45 minutes, basting them regularly with sauce until they are tender and no longer pink near the bones. For extra sauce to serve with the ribs, simply heat the remaining sauce to boiling, stirring constantly, then let it boil and stir for 1 minute.
